This site is dedicated solely to the 1968 Firebird 400 H.O. Our goal is to educate, promote, and help others better understand this car and it’s numerous qualities. The core of the site is the 1968 Firebird 400 H.O. National Registry.
The objective of this registry is to document all known 1968 firebird 400 H.O.’s still in existence (there was originally 2,099 built). This information in turn will help all interested parties to better grasp every facet of the cars, whether it is drive train combinations, interior/exterior colors, as well as all available options offered. Please see the above Registry link for our current database listing and how you can update your Firebird 400 H.O. into the national archives.
As the data grows we will be able to Statistically report better details how the cars were ordered. Here are some Statistics I’ve done so far with the current data.
I am a proud owner of a rare 1968 Firebird 400 H.O. 4 spd convertible. Since my purchase, I’ve wondered just how many are still around. There is an estimate that only 150 1968 Firebird 400 H.O. 4 spd convertibles were ever built. After 40 years how many are still around, likely a handful but a fair estimate maybe 15-20.
To date, I have made contact with eight other 1968 firebird 400 H.O. 4 spd convertibles.
